Create and connect with other secondary school teachers at this informal Friday evening workshop.

Join artist and educator Esther Adesigbin to experiment with new ways of making inspired by the artists in Entangled Pasts, 1768-now: Art, Colonialism and Change.

Following a brief visit to the exhibition, we’ll introduce resources to support teachers and students to explore, through art making, questions of power, representation and history raised in the exhibition, culminating in the creation of your own clay Empathy Pot.

We’ll also consider the Black Curriculum, a project aiming to incorporate accessible and engaging Black histories into the curriculum, and how it applies to the art classroom.

This workshop is designed with secondary school teachers in mind and is suitable for teachers of any subject, not just art. We welcome all levels of art knowledge and experience and provide all materials.

This exhibition contains themes of slavery and racism, and historical racial language and imagery. Please contact us for more information.
