Join us to discover the possibilities of silverpoint drawing during this weekend art-making course.
Learn how to draw with silverpoint, a method favoured by titans of the Italian Renaissance, including Leonardo and Raphael.
During this weekend course, Adele Wagstaff will introduce you to the fundamentals of drawing the human figure with silverpoint. You will engage in a series of short and long exercises during which you will learn silverpoint techniques. You will draw from life models and our vast collection of antique casts and écorchés in our historic life drawing room at the heart of the Royal Academy Schools.
You will be inspired by a visit to our exhibition, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael during which you will see some of the finest examples of Renaissance drawing.
Adele Wagstaff has been shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize and the BP Portrait Award, her work has been exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery, Royal West of England Academy, the Canadian Portrait Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
