Join artists, experts, and printmakers for this two-day course on prints, from how they are made to building your own collection.
This weekend course will give an insight into how prints are made; the various forms of prints and printmaking; and the collaborative relationship between artists and printers. The course will include a private tour of our print displays, archive and print room, and feature talks from artists including Royal Academicians, and art market experts. The course will explain the terminology behind prints and will include tips for starting or building a print collection – as well as for hanging and presenting your prints.
Participants will have access to the RA Editions programme and the opportunity to invest in work by Royal Academicians, graduates, and associates of the Royal Academy Schools.
This weekend course is aimed at those wishing to start an art collection as well as seasoned collectors wishing to broaden their collecting horizons. With specialist information on key trends and developments in the print market, as well as on caring for and displaying prints, the course will offer a guide for those wishing to buy, understand and enjoy prints. No prior knowledge is required.

About the speakers
Alison Acampora is Head of Art Sales at the Royal Academy of Arts, working with Academicians and invited artists to develop a year-round art and RA Editions programme since 2019. With a background in conservation and restoration of artworks from University College London and a master’s degree in art business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Alison spent seven years at the Victoria and Albert Museum, before founding her own consultancy Water Whiskers Presents, delivering projects for V&A Dundee, V&A South Kensington, Value Retail, and the Royal Academy of Arts, amongst others.
Leigh Clarke is a working artist printmaker and Print Tutor at the Royal Academy Schools. He has been commissioned to create work publicly addressing social issues around community and inclusivity, including Arts Council England-funded projects in Stoke-on-Trent, The Whitstable Biennale, a project regenerating Lea Valley with Create London, a print project at Le Centre de la gravure et de l'Image imprimée, and a public installation for the Margate Festival in with Turner Contemporary. His work has been exhibited internationally, as well as at the Walker Art Museum Liverpool, The Whitechapel Gallery London, The Royal Academy and the Turner Contemporary Margate. His prints are held in the collections of The Royal Academy of Arts, The Government Art Archive, The Imperial Health Charity and The Bank of England.
Gabriel Jamroz works as Genesis Future Curator in the Collections department at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He’s an art historian with particular interest in Victorian art, fashion and queer culture of the time. He gained curatorial experience by volunteering at various museums in the past and as one of his first bigger projects, he was involved with the Flaming June display at the RA.
Sara Terzi is the Senior Art Collections Manager for Soho House. The global private members' club has one of the largest private collections of its kind, with over 8,000 works on permanent display across 40+ sites internationally.
