Explore a wide range of approaches to drawing the nude in this two-day session, held in the RA Schools’ historic Life Room.
Join artist Francis Bowyer for a unique opportunity to draw from the male and female form in this two-day class.
10.30am – 4.30pm each day.
About the tutor - Francis Bowyer
Francis Bowyer has taught drawing and painting at all levels up to post-graduate and currently teaches at the RA Schools. He exhibits regularly at the New English Art Club and Royal Watercolour Society where he was President from 2000 to 2003. Francis won the Arts Club Prize at the 226th RA Summer Exhibition and his work is in the Royal Collection and H.R.H. The Prince of Wales Collection. He was a War Artist and travelled to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan in 2013.
Life drawing classes will take place over three weekend: 26 and 27 September, 14 and 15 November, 12 and 13 December 2015. Each two-day session will be led by a different tutor and will explore alternative approaches to the representation of the human body.
This class is suitable for those with some previous experience of drawing (not necessarily life drawing).
This class is for you if:
• You are prepared to be challenged in your approach to life drawing
• You would like to opportunity to draw in the historical and famous life room
Participants must be at least 18 years old and there is a maximum of 18 places for this class.
All materials and lunch on both days will be provided.
Our short courses and classes offer the opportunity to explore subjects ranging from life drawing to the history of portraiture, led by expert tutors and practising artists. These courses introduce traditional art-making processes, as well as perspectives on the history of art and language.
