Moser was strongly influenced by 17th-century Dutch flower painting, but her depictions of floral bouquets were for decorative effect rather than holding symbolic meanings. Famed for her flower paintings and highly regarded by her contemporaries, Moser’s works were in great demand among in wealthy circles. She received royal patronage throughout her life, including being drawing mistress to Princess Elizabeth (daughter of George III) and producing the decorative scheme for Queen Charlotte’s new country retreat at Frogmore.
