Irish novelist, memoirist, playwright, poet and short-story writer, Edna O’Brien joins us in the Academicians' Room, for the eleventh instalment of the On The Big Green Sofa series.
This December we welcome novelist Edna O'Brien to the RA's private members' club for a conversation exploring her exceptional career.
Guests are welcome to join us from 7pm in the club room where light bites and drinks will be available to purchase. The event will start promptly at 7.30pm.
Edna O’Brien has written more than twenty works of fiction. She is the recipient of many awards, including the Irish PEN Lifetime Achievement Award, the American National Arts Gold Medal, the Frank O’Connor Prize and the PEN/Nabokov Award for Achievement in International Literature. Born and raised in the west of Ireland, she has lived in London for many years. The Country Girls Trilogy was chosen as Dublin’s ‘One City One Book’ in 2019.
