Drop in on the first Friday night of the month for an evening of free drawing.

Pick up a pencil and get creative at this free drawing evening, inspired by the Summer Exhibition.

The drop-in session will be led by Making Space artists; Richard Okuwosa, Chris Harman, and Trevor Small who can give you tips and tricks for improving your drawing.

All abilities are welcome. You will be provided with basic drawing materials but feel free to bring your own dry materials too. Due to high demand capacity may be limited. Queuing is likely, and we allocate spaces on a first come, first served basis.

This workshop has been designed for members of our 25 & Under scheme.

Making Space is an inclusive 2-year artist development programme for a selected group of learning-disabled and neurodivergent artists. Working alongside artist educators Georgia Akbar and Helen Rousseau, the group meet monthly at the RA to expand and develop their practice.

About the artists

Richard Okuwosa Often using lists taken from TV, newspapers, magazines, and product design, Richard pieces together the words and phrases from his everyday environment to make bold and vibrant artworks. Richard is an artist and member of CityLit’s art group.

Chris Harman My name is Chris Harman. As an artist, I get on with people, I talk to people. I get ideas from books, Egypt, Pompeii, old buildings, modern art, stuff around London. It gives me ideas in my head, and it comes out on the paper. I am a member of CityLit’s art group.

Trevor Small My name is Trevor Small. I make embroidery work using bold colours and imagery found in nature, photos and magazines. I keep enjoying my work doing embroidery since I had my brain injury. I love people’s responses to my embroidery work – I like that people appreciate what I make. I am an artist and a member of Submit to Love studios at Headway East London.
