Maxine Peake joins Mary Nightingale in the second instalment of a series of conversations in which the ITV journalist and broadcaster talks to inspiring individuals in the art world.
Maxine Peake is one of the nation’s favourite actresses. Her work includes the Oscar-winning ‘The Theory of Everything’ alongside Eddie Redmayne, major television performances in BAFTA nominated dramas ‘Silk’, ‘Room at the Top’ and ‘Shameless’ and prestigious stage performances of ‘The Cherry Orchard’ at the National Theatre and the title role in ‘Hamlet’ in a radical reimagining of William Shakespeare's play at the Manchester Royal Exchange.
2016 sees Maxine taking the role of Titania in ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ adapted by Russell T. Davies which will air on the BBC in spring as part of BBC’s Shakespeare Season with a cast including Matt Lucas, Richard Wilson, Elaine Page and Hiran Abeysekera.
