Tulips

Caroline Reinagle (1787 - 1845)

RA Collection: Art

A drawing of two tulips in pencil, with heavy shading. This might have been based on Philip Reinagle's drawing 'A group of tulips' which was published in Dr Robert Thornton's The Temple of Flora .

Caroline Reinagle was the daughter of Philip Reinagle and the sister of Oriana Georgiana Reinagle. J.H. Smith, a porcelain painter and collector who owned these drawings, was a friend of Oriana and the executor of her will.
