One of a group of portraits commissioned from 1995 to complement the Academy's collection of late nineteenth century photographs of Academicians. Sir Nicholas was photographed by one of the dome-shaped biomes which were designed by Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners for the Eden Project at Bodelva, Cornwall.
