Almost all plates are signed as drawn and engraved by I. Fumagalli. Most carry also the name of the source-painter - 'L.V.', A. Salvi (or Silai or Salai), Bern. Lovinus, Io. Ant. Beltrafius, Caesar a Sexto, Bernazano, Gaud. Ferrarius or Marcus ab Uglone.
The work is dedicated by Ignazio Fumagalli to 'Il Principe Vicerè d'Italia, Arcicancelliere di Stato dell'Impero Francese' (i.e. Eugène Beauharnais).
Summary Note
The publication-date of 1811 is carried on the title-page. A few plates carry the date of 1809.
Provenance
The verso of the front loose endpaper is inscribed in ink 'S.A.H', i.e. S.A. hart, librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.
