It is possible that the author was Charles Long, Baron Farnborough; certainly his name follows the title of the pamphlet on the handwritten index affixed in the front of this volume of pamphlets. His name appears in an ink inscription (in Sir Richard Westmacott's hand?) on a blank page preceding the pamphlet and then a further inscription appears facing the title-page, 'From the Author'.

Provenance

An ink inscription appears on the blank front cover-paper (possibly in Sir Richard Westmacott's hand?) 'Charles Long / created / Baron Farnborough'.

Another inscription, in a different hand, appears on the verso of the front free endpaper facing the title-page inscribed 'From the Author'.
Part of a set of pamphlets from the library of Richard Westmacott RA presented by Mrs Rodwell in 1937 (see RA Annual Report for 1937, p. 55).
