The Notice reads, 'Every Student, on his admission, will be furnished with a copy of the Laws relating to the Schools, the Library, and the Students; with which Laws he is expected to make himself thoroughly acquainted, that he may at no time plead ignorance in excuse for any violation of them.'

The 11-page 'Addenda' recording regulations of the 'School of Painting' and other changes to the laws subsequent to 1814, includes the raising of the Housekeeper's salary to £70 p.a., which was agreed at a meeting of the General Assembly on 7 November 1842 (GA Minutes V, 12).

Provenance

The front loose endpaper is inscribed in ink, 'CStanfield. R.A. May 22d. 1844.' The front pastedown is inscribed in ink, 'Ernest Crofts 1897'.
