Content Description
Rather irritably justifies his tardy response, after their brief stay in Whitton. Hopes that they will return soon, as Charlotte so likes Whitton Place. He is pleased to hear of Harward's feelings for Charlotte. Mentions the [Priestley] riots in Birmingham, where Harward may have earned a little glory without the need to go overseas, rather than reclining in Haine. No matter, the Dissenters have been reduced by the mischief, to the benefit of the community.
