Historical Background
It is clear that the builk of these records were generated in two or three phases or activity - firstly in 1930 and succeeding years, secondly in the 1950s and thirdly in 1985 and succededing years. The episodic nature of this accumulation is evidence of periodic attempts to imprve administrative practice. Since the arrival of a professional Registrar for the Collection, in 1995, this procedure has become a routine element of collections management.
