Visiting safely during coronavirus
Find out more about the measures we've put in place to help ensure you have a safe and comfortable experience.
What you need to know before visiting
Mask wearing is optional inside our building and exhibitions
We recommend pre-booking your exhibition tickets
Friends and visitors are encouraged to book a ticket in advance to ensure entry at your preferred time.
Our free displays do not require a ticket
Visits to our shops, cafés, free collections and free displays do not require a ticket; simply show up and enjoy yourself.
The health and safety of our visitors and staff is paramount
We're continuing to carefully manage the number of visitors in our galleries, provide sanitising points throughout the building, and maintaining an enhanced cleaning regime. All our galleries have fresh air ventilation.

Facilities available
Our cafés and restaurants are open

Lockers and a cloakroom are available
There are multiple self-service locker facilities and a cloakroom on site. Space is limited so we ask that visitors try to limit the number of bags they bring.
Visitors cannot bring large bags or backpacks
Backpacks and large bags cannot be stored and are not allowed in the galleries.

Additional bike racks will be available, but please note that we can't accept responsibility if your bike is damaged or stolen.
