Meet the 2023 winner and nominees
Based in Mexico City, Gabriela Carrillo has more than 20 years of experience. Carrillo creates architecture that is sensitive and reactive to the environment around it.
COMUNAL is a working group based in Mexico that collaborates integrally with organized collectives in the design, defense and self-production of the habitat.
H Arquitectes is based in Sabadell, Barcelona. Their buildings are filled with evidence of the process of construction and material transformation.
Tropical Space is an architecture firm based in Ho Chi Minh City. They look to sculpture and the environment to inspire their designs, resulting in buildings that ‘breathe’.

The 2022 winner was Wallmakers. The other nominees were Apparata, Dot Architects and Semillas.
The 2020 winner was BCKJ Architects. The other nominees were AAU Anastas, AOR Architects and WHBC Architects.
The 2019 winner was Boonserm Premthada. The other nominees were Fernanda Canales; Alice Casey and Cian Deegan, TAKA architects and Mariam Kamara, Atelier Masōmī.
2018
The 2018 winner was Alireza Taghaboni. The other nominees were Rahel Shawl, Go Hasegawa, Arquitectura Expandida and Anne Holtrop.
