Advanced Graphics London: The Magic is in the Tea
3 September 2024 - 2 March 2025
Sir Hugh Casson Room | Keeper's House
This featured selling display celebrates the collaboration between Royal Academicians past and present with master printers and publishers Advanced Graphics London.
Bringing together six decades of work featuring prints by Craigie Aitchison, Tess Jaray, Vanessa Jackson, John Hoyland and Michael Craig-Martin amongst others, this display showcases the many combined techniques employed by the studio. From flocking to blocking, each work highlights how screenprinting can be anything but hard-edged and flat.
The show's title is taken from a piece of writing by Albert Irvin on the Studio’s 30th Anniversary in 1997. He expresses beautifully the nature of the relationship between artist and printer, enabling the artist to reach a higher level with the help of the technician.
All works are available for sale, generating revenue for the artist and the RA.
Everyone is welcome to view this display. Please note that the Keeper's House is a membership space. If you are not a member, please enquire at the membership desk.
