We are proud to present the latest exhibition from the Royal Academy’s Art Sales programme; ‘A Passage of Time’, by Basil Beattie RA.
“Ladders, tunnels and bridges, are words which refer to architectural details, but are also used to speak metaphorically of psychological and emotional states of being.” – Basil Beattie RA
This solo display of works on paper for sale by Senior Academician Basil Beattie presents work ranging from some of Beattie’s earliest prints to vibrant new drawings. The show also features several works on paper, as well as screenprints made at Advanced Graphics London.
The collection will explore the preoccupations of Beattie’s illustrious career including notions of the passing of time and the idea of the journey. Beattie is best known for his evocative abstract paintings, featuring architectural motifs such as stairs, ladders and tunnels which lend psychological and physical complexity to his work.
The works exhibited are available to buy online through Art Sales at the RA.
