Sensing Spaces
Follow your nose in special 'smellwalks' around the streets surrounding the RA, while back in the galleries Henshaw talks further about her pioneering research.
Over the course of the afternoon, Victoria Henshaw explores the power of smell to shape our experience of space and the city.
2.15–3pm: first smellwalk
3–3.45pm: gallery talk
3.45–4.30pm: second smellwalk
Meet in the Central Hall for the walks and the gallery talk.

More about Victoria Henshaw Victoria Henshaw is a Lecturer in Urban Design and Planning at the University of Sheffield. Her research focuses upon experiences, perceptions and the design of cities and buildings according to the senses and in particular, the sense of smell. Victoria leads smellwalks with people in cities around the world, is currently working on a Global Smell Map, and is author of the recently published book Urban Smellscapes: Undesrtanding and Designing City Smell Environments.
