This quirky museum is home to an eclectic collection of police uniforms, equipment and documents that relate to the history of the world’s first organised police force, the Thames River Police.
Hosted by the Hon. Curator, himself a retired serving officer with many years’ experience policing the river, we view the collection and learn how and why the Marine Police force was originally formed and hear many tales of historic incidents and accidents that have happened on the Thames and enjoy a view of Cherry Garden pier from where Turner is said to have painted The Fighting Temeraire (1839).
When booking for this event, please choose between the following two time slots: 12–1.30pm or 2–3.30pm.
