Souls Grown Deep like the Rivers
An opportunity for teachers to enjoy art, get inspired and relax in our galleries outside of public opening hours.
Visit Souls Grown Deep like the Rivers with fellow educators. The sculptures, paintings, reliefs, drawings, and quilts in the exhibition are on display for the first time in the UK and Europe.
Ranging from the mid 20th century to today, these unique works are made from local and available materials such as clay, driftwood, roots, soil, recycled and cast-off objects. Many works respond to issues of global concern: from economic inequality, oppression and social marginalisation, to sexuality, the influence of place and ancestral memory.
With cross-curricular links and resonant themes, this exhibition offers you a wealth of inspiration for the classroom or during a self-guided visit with your class.
Maximum 2 spaces per teacher. Teachers from the same school can book spaces. Teachers must show a relevant ID on the door to be admitted.
