Rubens and His Legacy
This exceptional event features a short story reading by one of the greatest living writers, Julian Barnes, who has selected a story that subtly responds to the themes presented in the exhibition 'Rubens and His Legacy: Van Dyck to Cézanne'.
Barnes, who rarely gives public readings, is the author of numerous novels, essays and stories. In 2011, after being shortlisted for three of his earlier books, Barnes won the Man Booker Prize for his novel The Sense of an Ending. He is the winner of numerous awards in the UK, the United States and France, including both the Prix Femina and the Prix Médicis.
We present this magical and immersive experience in partnership with Pin Drop, a unique initiative that communicates the unforgettable power of storytelling.
A drinks reception follows this event and ticket holders are entitled to one complimentary drink.
