Music Night with Jake Watson
Thursday 21 April 2016 7.30 - 9pm
The Academicians’ Room, The Keeper’s House, Royal Academy of Arts
Free, no booking required.
Stepping away from Jazz for this month's live music night, join us for some Folky Blues showcasing Jake Watson for the first time in the Academicians' Room.
Jake Watson is an energetic North London based musician who sings swamp-blues folk whilst playing Banjo or Guitar with his trusty double bass player at his side.
Jake Watson's music has said to bellow beyond his years, capturing the story telling of Johnny Cash and rawness of Robert Johnson. Recently placed into 'The Independent Music Reviews' top 50 folk acts, Watson has been gaining frequent and positive reviews for his second and latest release 'Final Thoughts on the Blood Card'. Jake's latest E.P has taken him on tours of the UK and Ireland gaining national airplay in support of the release. Labelled as 'Swamp-Blues', Watson's music has been said to "transport you to a far off land where neo-folk and blues is a staple diet".
The event is free and open to all so feel free to spread the word!
