Dr James Yorke leads Friends on an exclusive tour of Lancaster House, widely considered to be one of the greatest surviving London townhouses.
Commissioned in 1825 by the ‘Grand Old’ Duke of York, the exterior was mainly designed by Benjamin Wyatt. In 1827 it was purchased by the Marquess of Stafford whose family lived there until 1912. It is now an office or the Foreign and Commonwealth Department. We explore the Louis XV interiors, the ornate staircase and the Grand Hall.
When booking for this event, please choose between the following two time slots: 11am–12.30pm or 2.30–4pm. Please note that previously this event was scheduled for 7 August.
