Originally a Tudor manor house, Lamport Hall was the home of the Isham family for over four centuries and is idyllically situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside.
Our tour of the fine interiors of Lamport Hall, classically designed by John Webb in 1655, includes an outstanding collection of furniture, books and paintings, including portraits by Van Dyck, Kneller and Lely. We also visit the church of St Mary the Virgin in Wellingborough, designed by Sir Ninian Comper in 1906 which Pevsner describes as ‘…St Mary’s glistens and reveals and conceals to one’s heart’s delight’.
£84, including coach, coffee, lunch, glass of wine, tea.
