In celebration of the RA’s ‘Daniel Maclise: Waterloo Cartoon’ exhibition, RA Friends have an unique opportunity to visit the magnificent final murals in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords, as part of an art and architecture tour of this iconic institution.
Our tour of the House of Lords, led by specialist guides, starts at the Norman Porch, traditionally the only route for the sovereign to enter the Palace of Westminster. Friends visit the Queen’s Robing Room, the Prince’s Chamber, Lords' Chamber, Peer's Lobby, Central Lobby and St Stephen’s Hall. We also visit the Royal Gallery, which features the two murals by Maclise, commemorating the Battles of Trafalgar and Waterloo, and a temporary exhibition marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. Our evening finishes with a glass of champagne and a visit to the historic Westminster Hall.
£58 including champagne and nibbles.
