Join us for a Private View of Rebecca Salter RA’s upcoming exhibition of ‘Paintings Drawings Prints’ at Beardsmore Gallery. This special Friends Week feature will include new works, with the artist in attendance to discuss the pieces on show.
Beardsmore Gallery invites Friends for a special Private View of Rebecca Salter RA’s upcoming exhibition, Paintings Drawings Prints. This exclusive evening is part of our Friends Week, and is a wonderful opportunity to ask your questions and discuss the works on show with one of our Academicians.
Rebecca writes of her work, and the exhibition:
"The composer Morton Feldman once characterised his compositional method as a process of ‘negation’ which functioned in many ways but included repetition and obliteration. The listener is challenged by discontinuity, by what is taken away, what is obscured and what remains. A repeated drawn mark may, too, be obsessive or metronomic in character, but its flickering existence can nevertheless draw the mind inward. It presents a delicate order which often holds within it the threat of chaos or collapse and the uncertainty which may follow."
