Friends of the RA are invited to join a in conversation event with paper artist Zoe Bradley as she discusses her journey through fashion and sculpture.
Zoe Bradley’s journey sculpting paper began in 2005. Through her skills as a fashion designer, she works like a tailor and applies her artistry – including folding, cutting and stitching – to paper. Her most recent collaboration with Sotheby's reimagines the fashion in Old Master paintings with 5 commissioned artworks inspired by Royal and Noble Descent.
In 2007, she worked alongside Alexander McQueen to create showpieces for Spring/Summer 1999’s Ready to Wear show. Since her career beginnings, she has created unique editorial and retail displays for clients including Louis Vuitton, Liberty, Harrods and Vogue. Her recent collaborations include a couture-style dress for London Design Week, and smaller pieces, which will be on display in the Fine Rooms from 10am on the day of the event.
In this talk, Zoe will share the origin of her techniques and the importance of art in her fashion career.
Ticket price includes a welcome drink. Booking is essential for this event; if you wish to bring a guest please book one ticket for each person.
