The RA is delighted to offer Friends a rare private tour of Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire, a stunning neo-Palladian English country house designed by Isaac Ware in 1754 for Admiral John Byng.
On this special tour led by Wrotham’s archivist, Friends delve into the architecture and history of this country house, with an exclusive chance to explore the ground floor rooms. Wrotham Park has a fine collection of sculpture, porcelain and paintings, including portraits by van Dyck, Kneller, Reynolds, Lawrence, de Laszlo and Sargent. The house is also a popular filming location, having stood in as Gosford Park in the 2001 film of the same name. As Wrotham Park is not usually open for tours, this tour is not to be missed.
£60. Includes tea, coffee and cake.
