Friends enjoy a special tour of the newly completed Leathersellers’ Hall, recently redesigned by architect Eric Parry RA, who leads the tour alongside Company Archivist, Jerome Farrell.
The Hall is the home of the the Leathersellers’ Company, one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, founded by royal charter in 1444. On this tour, Friends hear about the Company’s long and illustrious history, with opportunities to see the Company’s artefacts on display, including bronze statues of a ram and a roebuck, the Company’s so-called “beasts”.
Royal Academician Eric Parry leads Friends around Hall, which was completed in 2016, and is the seventh Hall in the Company’s history. Parry masterfully reinterpreted the design of the Hall to complement Leathersellers’ rich heritage.
