Meet some of the stars of this year's Young Artists’ Summer Show as they tell us the stories behind their works selected for display at the RA.
This year's exhibitors at the Young Artists' Summer Show share the processes and inspirations behind their works – from siblings to sick days to David Hockney. The Young Artists' Summer Show is a free, open submission exhibition for students aged 4–19 studying in the UK. Artworks are judged by a panel of passionate artists and arts professionals, with selected artworks displayed online and on-site at the Royal Academy of Arts.

This year's Young Artists’ Summer Show online exhibition showcases 512 artworks by young people across the UK.
From sausage dogs to human sardines, beating hearts and blooming books, the show is a celebration of the creativity, passion, insight, imagination and skill of young artists.
