Published on 14 February 2023
Take a journey through 4,000 years of art-making across Spain and Latin America, guided by RA curator Adrian Locke and Director of the Hispanic Society Museum and Library, Guillaume Kientz.
“Magnificent and most peculiar objects...” Spanning early Bronze Age ceramics by the Bell Beaker culture, to sun-dazzled studies of 20th-century Spain by Joaquín Sorolla, our landmark exhibition charts the history of the Spanish-speaking world through 150 artworks. Join our curators to hear about some of the highlights. The Hispanic Society Museum and Library in New York is home to the most extensive collection of Spanish art outside of Spain and is presented for the first time in the UK, here at the Royal Academy.
