From David Hockney's joyous springtime works, to the exciting new force in painting, Michael Armitage, our updated 2021 programme gives everyone something to look forward to.
Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to postpone some of our exhibitions. We will be in touch with all affected ticket-holders.

Our 2021 exhibitions at a glance:
18 May – 1 August
She’s been a major figure in contemporary art for over 25 years; he pioneered a radical new style known as Expressionism. In this landmark exhibition, Tracey Emin selects masterpieces by Edvard Munch to show alongside her most recent paintings.
22 May – 19 September
An exciting new force in painting, Michael Armitage draws from Titian, Goya, Manet and Gauguin to explore East African culture and folklore.
23 May – 26 September
In the midst of a pandemic, David Hockney RA captured the unfolding of spring on his iPad, creating 116 new and optimistic works in praise of the natural world.
22 September 2021 – 2 January 2022
Our annual celebration of art and creativity continues in 2021. The Summer Exhibition is the world’s largest open submission art show and brings together art in all mediums by leading artists, Royal Academicians and household names as well as new and emerging talent.
30 October 2021 – 13 February 2022
Towards the end of his career, John Constable’s brushwork became increasingly free and expressive. This exhibition explores the artist’s late work including paintings as well as watercolours, drawings and prints.
