Black and white photograph showing Sir Gerald Kelly P.R.A.in the General Assembly Room at Burlington House. Above the mantelpiece is 'The Virgin and Child with the Infant St. John' by Michelangelo Buonarroti. In 1953, the Council of the Royal Academy agreed that the relief should be displayed in the Assembly Room and it should be protected against exposure to the London atmosphere. It has previously been in storage since the WWII.
