Samuel Robert Lock (b.1822) formed a partnership with George Carpe Whitfield in 1856. They opened a studio at 178 Regent Street 1857 - 1894 and later one at 109, King's Road, Brighton. Pritchard also lists a studio from 1866 - 1869 at 24 Edwardes Square, Kensington.
Lock was also a minature painter who exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1849 -1854.
