RA Collection: People and Organisations
Formed in 1831 and housed in 35 King Street, Covent Garden before its removal to the current location in 1864. The Club was to be a place where actors and men of refinement could meet on equal terms. The list of old members is a roll call of the great and the good of literary circles.
The Club continues to function vigorously and its membership numbers some 1300.
