Bretano's was an American bookstore founded in New York in 1853. During the Great Depression it became the largest bookstore in the United States with stores in New York, Washington and Chicago. It was managed by various members of the Brentano family. At various times in its history, Brentano's had stores outside of the United States. Under the leadership of Arthur Brentano, Brentano's had stores in Paris and London.
