Sidney Howard Barnsley (1865 - 1926)

Furniture designer, furniture maker and architect working in the Arts & Crafts style. He studied architecture at the Royal Academy Schools from 31 December 1885, concurrently, entering the office of the architect Richard Norman Shaw RA. In 1888 he travelled to Greece with fellow architect and RA Schools student Robert Weir Schultz (1880-1951). They travelled widely, recording Byzantine monuments under the auspices of the British School at Athens.
