Studied architecture in the Royal Academy Schools from 27 July 1909 to July 1914. He enlisted as a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery and entered France in March 1915. Promoted to Lieutenant, he was killed in action on the Western Front, aged 26 years, on 21 March 1918.
