John Lawrence (b.1981, UK) previously studied at the University of the West of England. He graduated from the Royal Academy Schools in 2010.
Lawrence’s practice centres around questioning how our increasingly mediated experience of the world can impact upon what could be described as a “collective psyche”.
Working across video installation, sound, writing, digital image and publishing – and mining a contemporary archive of footage, images and references – Lawrence draws connections between diverse material as a way to highlight how we use the production and dissemination of cultural objects to communicate ideas.
He is currently a lecturer in Fine Art at both Kingston University and the University of Lincoln.
