RA Collection: People and Organisations
Engraver and painter. Admitted to the Royal Academy Schools aged 18 as a painter on 14 January 1869. Brother of the artist William Edwards Miller, who also studied in the RA Schools from 29 May 1868.
Most sources, e.g. the British Museum, Getty Union List of Artists Names, state that he was born in 1860 and died in 1903. However, as he was 18 when admitted to the RA Schools in 1869, he must have been born in 1850/51. The is confirmed by his entry the 1901 Census which gives his age as 51 at the time of the Census. Probate records give his date of death as 29th October 1921.
