Articled to John Yenn in 1780 and was admitted to the Royal Academy Schools the same year. He remained in Yenn’s office until 1795. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1782 to 1799. Many of his exhibits were measured drawings of medieval architecture. he was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 1799. He was probably the architect called Meredith who wrote the life of Sir William Chambers for C.G. Dyer’s Biographical Sketches of … Eminent Men (1819).
