Francesco Coghetti (1804 - 1875)

Painter, draughtsman. Religious subjects, allegorical subjects.

Coghetti was first a pupil of Diotti of Casalmaggiore. On moving to Rome, he studied under Camuccini and also developed his style by close observation of the works of Raphael. For several years, he was president of the Accademia di S Luca in Rome. He was known as a picture restorer and taught drawing at the Vittoria Colonna training school in Rome.
