Miniature painter. Born in London in 1780 to Samuel Newton Rivière and Ann Garford. Daniel Valentine Rivière married Henrietta Thunder and had 10 children, including William Rivière (1805-1876), Robert Rivière (1808-1882) and Henry Parsons Rivière (1811-1888). He studied painting at the Royal Academy Schools from 5th November 1796. Exhibited at the RA in 1823, 1837, 1838, 1839 and 1840.
