Summary Note
The work was intended to counterbalance the Tuscan bias of Vasari's lives. As the third Tavola indicates, the text describes of artists of Perugia active between 1250 and 1716. The book appeared while Pascoli was in the course of publishing his better-known work, the Vite de' pittori, scultori ed architetti moderni (1730-6).
The book has no plates, but the text carries many wood-cut decorated initials. The half-title and title-page are printed in red and black.
Copy Note
The front pastedown is inscribed in ink with a nine-line note in Italian, referring to Winckelmann. A preliminary leaf carries an early 19th-century booksellers' printed ticket, which reads, 'L.
Binding Note
