First issued in 72 monthly parts between 1 March 1818 and February 1824. The titlepage to this copy of Vol. I bears the imprint of W. H. Reid, but from the second volume onwards the publishers were Sherwood Neely and Jones, Paternoster-Row; and Thomas Moule, Duke-Street, Grosvenor-Square, London. The verso of each titlepage has a printer statement for J. McCreery, Printer, Black-Horse-Court, London (Vol. I-III); J. McCreery, Tooks-Court, Chancery-Lane, London (Vol. IV-VI). Each volume contains a dedication and index to the volume. In addition, Vol. I in this set contains a List of Subscribers, an Address (by J. P. Neale, dated Jan. 12, 1824) announcing the completion of Vol. VI and thus of the first series and discusses plans for the second, and an Introduction (by Thomas Moule, dated Jan. 31, 1823).
