Each plate is accompanied by a guard-leaf on which is printed the title of the painting represented. In some copies the volume of text and plates is accompanied by two portfolios, each containing further reproductions of the plates in the book (apart from thre last two) - the first 'in photogravure on Japanese paper, limited to one hundred sets', the second 'in photogravure on India paper, limited to fifty sets'.
