The map is captioned as showing Pullan's route 'In 1858, 59, 61, 62'. The text describes ruins at Aeolia (Elaea, Grynium, Myrina, Cyme), Teos, Troad, Assos, Pergamus, Mysia, Priene, Branchidae, Heracleia, Labranda, Myus, Colophon and Erythrae.
The plates show views, maps, plans, elevations, reconstructions and details of ruins - chiefly of temples and theatres but also of a tomb and a basilica - at Assos, Branchidae, Aizani, Ancyra, Aphrodisias, Aspendus, Iassos, Myra, Patara and Pergamus.
