Summary Note
The first volume contains an introduction to architectural principles and an account of European architects from the 5th century B.C. to the 16th century A.D.; the second volume, of those of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The translator has slightly expanded the original text, with notes on sources and lives of a few architects not included by Milizia.
